1. When running the contest Rock 101 promises to play 16 songs in a row or pay $5,000 for breaking that promise.
2. WROQ will identify the contest at the beginning, throughout and at the end of the marathon.
3. In the event that Rock 101 plays fewer than 16 songs during a 16 Song Marathon the $5,000 will be awarded to the first person to call the Rock Exchange lines (800-763-0101 or 864-298-0101) and identify the group or title of the first thru last songs in the marathon. Contestants must make their calls and attempts to list the groups or titles of songs within 30 minutes of the infraction.
4. Marathons can be interrupted by weather announcements, traffic updates, emergency announcements and Rock 101 promotional announcements involving a paid client of WROQ. These may be live or pre-recorded.
5. Playing more than 16 songs does not indicate a violation of the rules.
6. Any technical problems, emergency interruptions or other occurrences that cause WROQ to lose control of programming immediately voids the contest and nulls the guarantee for that contest.
7. The winner of $5,000, any immediate family member or member of the winner’s household are ineligible for any other contest sponsored by WROQ for a period of 365 days from the date of the contest. It is the responsibility of the winner to inform all persons affected by this rule.
8. The $5,000 will be available in the form of a check and will be available for pick-up within 30 days of winning the prize. Failure to pick up the prize within that time will mean forfeiture of the prize.
9. Employees of WROQ, WTPT, Entercom LLC. any other broadcast station or mass media, their immediate families and households are not eligible to win.
10.The contest ends at the discretion of
WROQ.
11. Listeners must be 18 and over to participate in the contest.
12. Winners must sign a release form and are subject to all rules governing Rock 101 winners, taxes and gratuities afforded by such earnings. Winners must also provide their Social Security Number and are responsible for all taxes of the $5,000.
13. These rules are subject to chance without notice. The rules are available in the lobby of WROQ at 25 Garlington Road. Greenville, SC, 25615. Any rules quoted or inferred vocally either by phone or on the air are subject to the approval of the judges and are invalid until such action is taken.
14. Any protest or discrepancy of the 16 song rules or execution must be submitted in writing to the Rock 101 business office within 30 days of the alleged infraction.
15. The decision of the judges is final.
16. These rules affect any contestant and winners as of February 28, 2003.
17. WROQ is not responsible for busy phone lines or technical problems with phone lines during contest.
